Punjab is Ready for Implementation of a Single National Curriculum for 2021

Punjab government has recently issued a notification for implementing a Single National Curriculum (SNC) for school Grades of Pre I-V it is for the forthcoming academic session of the year 2021-22. The Model Textbooks of Education and the Reforms & Textbook Development Wing along with the School Education Department have also been developed by the federal government in Punjab to be adopted by almost all the streams of provincial education.

The notification regarding this was undersigned by Dr. Farooq Manzoor, the Managing Director of Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board includes: The Provincial Cabinet of the Punjab in the 39th meeting that has accorded the concurrence and also the adoption of the Single National Curriculum (SNC).

It also stated that as per the approval of the Board that was in its 76th meeting and in the last month of 2020, as per the Section 9(3)(a) of the PCTB Act-2015, and the Competent Authorities, Punjab Curriculum, and the Textbook Board, Lahore has also hereby notified the Single National Curriculum (SNC) for the Grades Pre One-Five.

The SNC will also be launched in this phases. However, in the first phase, a basic uniform syllabus will be given and introduced for the classes of one to five in the coming March of 2021, for classes 6 to 8 in next year March 2022, and for classes 9 to 12 in 2023.
