Punjab on High Alert as PDMA Issues Severe Flood Warning

The spokesperson for PDMA announced that the water levels are rising due to recent rains in the Koh-e-Sulaiman region.

As a result, the Director General of PDMA, Irfan Kathia, has instructed the local authorities to be on high alert. Officials, including the Commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan and the deputy commissioners, have been warned about the situation.

The Director General of PDMA stressed the importance of keeping emergency control rooms fully operational with staff ready to respond at any moment. Rescue 1122 teams must stay on high alert, and it is crucial to have enough petrol and diesel to power the rescue operations.

Additionally, there should be a strong focus on evacuating people and livestock from areas that are at risk of flooding. It is also essential to ensure that flood relief camps are stocked with enough food, clean drinking water, and other necessary supplies for those affected by the floods.
