Punjab Police has provided a house worth Rs. 13.5 million to the family of Shaheed Constable Muhammad Rafiq as part of its welfare programme for the families of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The house was purchased in Rajanpur according to the wishes of the martyr’s family. The funds for the house were released by the Punjab government to ensure the family received proper support after their loss.
Constable Muhammad Rafiq embraced martyrdom in 2024 while fighting dacoits in the Katcha area during an official police operation. He sacrificed his life while performing his duty to protect the public and maintain law and order.
He is survived by his wife, seven daughters, and one son. The financial assistance and new home are part of the Punjab Police welfare programme, which aims to provide long-term support to the families of officers who make the ultimate sacrifice.
Punjab IGP Abdul Kareem paid tribute to Shaheed Constable Muhammad Rafiq, praising his courage, dedication, and commitment to serving the nation. He said the sacrifice of the martyr would always be remembered and honoured.
The IGP also reaffirmed Punjab Police’s commitment to standing by the families of its fallen officers. He said the department remains dedicated to ensuring that the families of martyrs receive the care, respect, and assistance they deserve.
Punjab Police has more than 1,700 martyrs who sacrificed their lives while protecting the people of the province. The welfare programme reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to support these families and recognise the invaluable service of its brave personnel.
