Punjab to Get New Electric Bike Manufacturing Plant

Punjab is set to expand its electric vehicle industry after China’s G-Force Group and Pakistan’s Jolta Electric signed a joint venture agreement to manufacture electric bikes and related equipment in the province.

The agreement was signed in Lahore on October 12, 2026, by G-Force Group China Director Zhang Rui and Jolta Electric Chairman Dr Muhammad Amjad. Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain attended the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, Jolta Electric will establish an electric bike manufacturing plant at Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Sheikhupura. Meanwhile, G-Force Group plans to set up a separate facility in Punjab to manufacture batteries and electric vehicle charging stations.

The project aims to expand local production of electric two-wheelers and supporting equipment. However, the companies have not yet announced the investment amount, expected production capacity or a timeline for starting operations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shafay Hussain said Punjab was working to attract more local and foreign investment in the electric vehicle sector. He noted that several factories producing electric two-wheelers were already operating in the province.

The minister also highlighted the potential for electric bikes to reduce noise and air pollution compared with petrol-powered motorcycles.

If implemented, the project could bring new investment and employment opportunities to Punjab while supporting the development of Pakistan’s electric vehicle manufacturing industry.
