Hamad International Airport in Doha has been named the best airport in the world, according to a study conducted by Skytrax, a research firm based in London. The airport received this prestigious recognition at the 2024 World Airport Awards, held during the Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt, Germany.
The title was previously held by Changi Airport in Singapore, but Hamad International Airport took the top spot this year. This is the third time the airport has won this award, as it also received the honor in 2021 and 2022.
The award was based on a comprehensive global survey conducted from August 2023 to February 2024. Travelers rated their experiences in various areas, including check-in procedures, shopping, security, immigration, and departure processes.
Changi Airport, while no longer holding the title of best airport globally, still excels in Asia and was praised for its outstanding immigration services, which are considered the best in the world. Additionally, the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport hotel was recognized as the best airport hotel for the ninth time.
