Rabi-ul-Awwal has begun in Pakistan, bringing the start of a month that holds special spiritual importance for Muslims around the world.
In Pakistan, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed on August 26, 2026, according to the announced lunar calendar.
During the month, people take part in religious gatherings, prayers and special programmes to remember the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Naats are recited at mosques and community events, while many homes and places of worship are decorated and illuminated.
The occasion is also an opportunity for people to reflect on the values associated with the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings, including peace, compassion, kindness, patience and unity.
Across Pakistan, communities traditionally organise Milad gatherings and other religious activities as part of the observance. Families and neighbourhoods also come together to mark the occasion with devotion and respect.
Rabi-ul-Awwal is therefore not only a month of celebration but also a time for Muslims to remember the character, message and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
As Eid Milad-un-Nabi approaches, preparations and religious activities are expected to increase across the country, with people coming together to honour the blessed occasion.
