Rashid Khan Announces to Donate All World Cup 2023 Match Fee to Afghanistan Earthquake Victim

A devastating earthquake in Herat, Afghanistan, with a magnitude of 6.3, has resulted in a tragic loss of over a thousand lives and widespread destruction. The earthquake’s impact extended to Badghis and Farah provinces, compounding the damage and affecting numerous communities. More than 600 homes in 12 villages of Herat’s Zinda Jan and Ghoryan districts were destroyed, leaving over 4,200 people in dire need of assistance. Search and rescue operations are underway to provide aid to those affected by this calamity.

In the face of this humanitarian crisis, Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan, currently in India for the Cricket World Cup, has shown incredible generosity and compassion. He announced his decision to donate his entire match fee to support the earthquake victims. He stated, “I have heard about the devastating consequences of the earthquake in the western provinces of Afghanistan (Herat, Farah, and Badghis), and it deeply saddens me.”
