Rawalpindi court temporarily banns Careem from calling its drivers ‘captains’

According to the sources, the Rawalpindi court temporarily banns Careem from calling its drivers ‘captains’. This happened after the petition filed by an airline pilot in the court saying that he had to face a lot of humiliation and dishonor by sharing the job label with the Careem company’s staff.

The complaint was given by Labeeb Ahmed, who is a pilot by profession, through his lawyer Chaudhry Rizwan Elahi.

Rao Ejaz Ahmed Awan- Civil Judge of Rawalpindi passed the order and demands the response submitted by the company by 31st July.

In the complaint, filed by Labeeb Ahmed, it was stated that because of using the word ‘captain’ for Careem’s driver, he has to suffer the brunt of jokes from people as they often confuse his job title with that of Careem captains.

The petitioner further added that such incidents had cracked his confidence and the aviation position that is got after going through difficult education & gaining a commercial pilot license from the Civil Aviation Authority Pakistan, is also dishonored through the jokes.

He further said that because of Careem’s terminology for their drivers, he felt scared and ashamed while telling his job title to the other. The title of the captain should only be utilized for a pilot or a 3rd-ranked army officer, the petitioner argued.

After hearing the arguments, the court temporarily banned the company from using the word captain for their drivers.
