Saim Ayub Makes History in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Final

Saim Ayub made history in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final of the 2023/24 season by achieving a unique feat. He became the first player to score both a century and a double-century in the final of this prestigious cricket tournament.

Karachi Whites dominated the third day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023-24 final by scoring 238-5 in their second innings. In contrast, Faisalabad struggled, managing only 124 runs in their first innings. They lost their last six wickets in the early hours of the day.

The 21-year-old Saim Ayub stood out with a century, scoring 109 runs off 179 balls in the second innings. He hit 12 boundaries and one six during his impressive innings.

Shan Masood and Asad Shafiq also performed well, both reaching half-centuries. Shan made a quick 51 off just 26 deliveries but got run out. Asad Shafiq remained unbeaten at 60 off 140 balls by the end of the day.

Omair Bin Yousuf failed to score any runs, going out for a duck, while skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed added just one run before the day’s play ended.

In the previous innings, Faisalabad’s batters, Muhammad Irfan Khan and Ali Shan, had contributed 32 off 33 and nine off 11, respectively.

Ali Asfand managed only five runs before losing his wicket, and Khurram Shahzad made three runs before being caught by Omair Bin Yousuf.
