Sarfraz Ahmed Completes 3000 Test Runs

During the current Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle, Pakistan’s former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed reached a significant milestone by crossing the 3000-run mark in Test cricket. He achieved this feat in the first innings of the match, completing it in 91 innings with a boundary.

Sarfaraz now becomes the 20th Pakistani batsman to surpass 3000 runs in Test cricket. Notably, as a wicketkeeper-batsman, he is the first from Pakistan to achieve this milestone in the longer format of the game.

Since his Test debut in 2010 against Australia, Sarfaraz has scored 21 fifties and four centuries in his career. One of his recent centuries came earlier this year against New Zealand, where his innings played a crucial role in Pakistan securing a draw in the second Test held in Karachi.

In the ongoing Test against Sri Lanka, Sarfaraz contributed 17 runs before getting dismissed LBW while attempting a sweep shot. However, he showcased his skills as a wicketkeeper by taking four important catches during the Sri Lankan innings.
