Saudi Arabia Beats Pakistan in FIFA World Cup Qualifier

In the opening match of the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Saudi Arabia achieved a decisive 4-0 win over Pakistan at Al-Fateh Stadium in Al-Hasa.

During the first half, Pakistan displayed potential, managing to keep the score to just one goal against them. However, Saudi Arabia took control in the second half, adding three more goals to their tally.

Saleh Al-Shahri was a standout performer, scoring twice, with goals in the 6th and 48th minutes. Abdul Rahman Ghareeb further extended the lead with a goal in the 91st minute, and Abdullah Radif capped off the victory with a goal in the 96th minute.

Given the rankings—Saudi Arabia at 57th and Pakistan at 193rd—the outcome was largely as expected. This match was particularly significant for Pakistan, as it marked their first appearance in the second round of the Asian Qualifiers. Despite the loss, participating at this stage represents a milestone for Pakistani football, showing their progress and potential for future competitions.
