Saudi Arabia Calls for “Restraint” & Backs Pakistani Mediation for US-Iran Settlement

Saudi Arabia has voiced its support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran, calling on all sides to exercise restraint as the situation in the Gulf region remains fragile. The Kingdom underscored the importance of avoiding further escalation and encouraged constructive engagement to prevent the crisis from deepening.

In an official statement, authorities in Riyadh stressed that dialogue and diplomacy must remain the primary tools for resolving disputes, particularly at a time when regional stability is under increasing pressure. The statement also highlighted the critical need to ensure safe and uninterrupted maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route that has recently been at the center of heightened security concerns.

The development comes in the wake of recent military activity in the region, which has raised alarm among international stakeholders despite reports of a temporary ceasefire facilitated through Pakistan’s mediation. Saudi officials noted that while such efforts are a positive step, sustained commitment from all parties is essential to maintain calm and prevent renewed confrontation.

Saudi Arabia further warned that any prolonged conflict could have far-reaching consequences, not only for the Middle East but also for global economic and security frameworks. Emphasizing the interconnected nature of modern geopolitics, the Kingdom reiterated its call for all involved nations to prioritize peaceful resolution and engage in meaningful negotiations to restore stability and confidence in the region.
