The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia has unveiled the flight schedule for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, a significant event in the Islamic calendar. The schedule signifies a pivotal part of the preparations for the annual pilgrimage, which attracts millions of devout Muslims from around the world to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

According to the official notification from GACA, pre-Hajj flights will commence on May 9, 2024, marking the start of the influx of pilgrims from different corners of the globe. These pilgrims will continue to arrive in Saudi Arabia until June 10, as they embark on their sacred journey.

The post-Hajj phase begins on June 20, when pilgrims start returning to their home countries. The last Hajj flight is scheduled to depart on July 21, 2024, allowing ample time for all pilgrims to complete their religious duties and safely return to their homes.

A notable aspect of this announcement is the allowance for airlines, including the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), to submit applications for pre and post-Hajj flight operations until January 1, 2024. This demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s commitment to ensuring a well-organized and smooth pilgrimage experience for all participants.

The Saudi authorities have declared their readiness to welcome a record number of pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj, underscoring the meticulous planning and arrangements in place to facilitate this massive religious gathering. The Hajj pilgrimage remains a profound and spiritually significant event for Muslims worldwide, and Saudi Arabia’s preparations aim to provide a safe and seamless experience for all those who make this sacred journey.
