School teacher fired from job in India for cheering Pakistan’s victory in T20 World Cup match

According to a report published in India Today, a female teacher at a private school in the Indian state of Rajasthan was fired after celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in the World T20 match on Sunday.

On Sunday night, Pakistan created history by defeating India in a World Cup match for the first time, breaking a curse that had lasted since 1992.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the Muslim teacher, Nafeesa Attari, was fired from her employment at the Neerja Modi School in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district for posting a status on popular messaging app WhatsApp expressing her excitement at Pakistan’s victory.
