Shaheen Afridi Should Lead Pakistan in T20Is: Aaqib Javed

Former Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed has suggested that Shaheen Afridi should be appointed as the new captain of the Pakistan cricket team in T20Is.

Javed believes that the young pacer has the potential to lead the team and take them to new heights.

In a recent interview, Javed stated that Afridi had shown great maturity and leadership skills on the field, making him a good captaincy choice. He also praised Afridi’s consistent performance in T20Is, saying he has been one of the most successful bowlers in the format.

Javed further emphasised that Afridi’s captaincy could bring new energy and motivation to the team, which has been struggling in T20Is in recent years.

He added that Afridi’s age and experience would also be an advantage, as he is a young and dynamic player with a bright future ahead of him. The former Pakistan coach’s comments have sparked a debate within the cricketing community.

Some support the idea of Afridi’s captaincy, while others suggest that he should focus on his bowling and let a more experienced player lead the team.

It is worth noting that Pakistan’s current T20I captain, Babar Azam, has recently been criticized for his captaincy, with some calling for a change in leadership.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to make an official statement on the matter, but it’s still unclear whether they’ll consider Javed’s advice and name Afridi the team’s new captain.
