Shahid Afridi Praises Rashid Khan for Choosing Afghanistan Over PSL

In today’s cricket, choosing franchise cricket above national duty is no longer unusual. Many players have left national duty midway for franchise cricket in recent years; however, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi believes players should prioritise national duty over franchise cricket.

When asked about Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan’s decision to prefer the Bangladesh series over the PSL final, Afridi replied that if someone is centrally contracted, he should represent his country, not a franchise.

The Afghanistan leg-spinner played for Lahore Qalandars in the just finished PSL, but he had to leave halfway through due to an Afghanistan tour to Bangladesh.

Rashid Khan’s involvement in the PSL final was rumoured last Saturday; however, Rashid instantly denied the rumours.
