Shahrukh Becomes First Indian Actor Whose Three Movies Earn Rs. 84.6 Billion in Year

Shah Rukh Khan had a fantastic year in 2023, making a successful comeback with the blockbuster “Pathaan” in January, followed by “Jawan,” and ending the year with Rajkumar Hirani’s “Dunki.” All three movies were big hits, earning a combined total of Indian Rs2,500 crores (Pak Rs84.6 billion), as reported by Indian media.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared on X, a microblogging site, that Shah Rukh Khan is the first Indian actor to achieve a gross revenue of Rs2,500 crores with his films in a single year. “iamsrk becomes the 1st Actor in the Indian movie industry, to cumulatively deliver 2,500 Crs gross revenue in a single calendar year,” he announced.

“Pathaan,” released in January 2023, marked Shah Rukh Khan’s return after a four-year break, featuring co-stars John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Dimple Kapadia. Salman Khan also made a special appearance.

After the success of “Pathaan,” Shah Rukh Khan continued to impress with his action-packed role in “Jawan,” directed by Atlee and released on September 7. The film also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Ridhi Dogra.

In December, Shah Rukh Khan wrapped up the year with “Dunki,” released on December 21. The film featured a cast including Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. “Dunki” follows the emotional journey of friends aspiring to move abroad, taking an unconventional route called the Donkey Flight, highlighting the challenges they face along the way.
