Shan Masood Honours Babar Azam with a Cap and Souvenir on 50th Test Appearance

Before the start of the Test series between Pakistan and Australia in Perth, Shan Masood, the team captain, took a moment to acknowledge and celebrate Babar Azam’s achievement of playing 50 Test matches.

In a gesture of appreciation, Masood presented Azam with a specially made cap and a souvenir to commemorate this significant milestone.

Babar Azam, who had recently stepped down as the captain following Pakistan’s challenges in the Asia Cup and World Cup, received this honor within the confines of the Pakistan dressing room. His fellow teammates praised him for reaching this noteworthy milestone.

During the presentation, Captain Masood expressed warm sentiments about how many players in the team had flourished under Babar’s leadership, emphasizing the positive influence he had on the entire team.

Babar Azam initiated his Test career in 2016 against the West Indies and has since accumulated an impressive record, amassing over 3,700 runs with an average of 47.74. This remarkable performance includes nine centuries and 26 half-centuries.

Babar led the Pakistan team in 20 Test matches, achieving a 50% win rate with victories in half of the games, along with four draws and six losses.

The recognition ceremony before the Test series served as a moment of appreciation for Babar Azam’s significant contribution to Pakistani cricket, both as a player and a leader. The acknowledgment from his teammates and the captain highlighted the positive impact Babar has had on the team’s development and success.
