Shan Masood Kicks off Australia Tour With Classy Century

On the inaugural day of the four-day cricket match against the Australian Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, Pakistan’s captain, Shan Masood, showcased remarkable prowess with an unbeaten century, guiding his team to a formidable score of 324-6 by stumps on Wednesday.

Having won the toss and chosen to bat, Pakistan encountered an early setback with the departure of opener Imam-ul-Haq, who could muster only 9 runs. However, the tide turned as Shan Masood and Babar Azam forged a vital partnership, accumulating 92 runs before Babar’s dismissal at 40.

Undeterred, Masood continued his stellar performance, crafting an impressive unbeaten score of 156 off 235 balls. The day’s play culminated with Pakistan standing at 324/6, witnessing the dismissal of Faheem Ashraf on the final delivery after contributing 17 runs.

Masood’s resilience and skill at the crease not only salvaged Pakistan from an early setback but also positioned them strongly in the match. As the team looks ahead to the subsequent days, Masood’s captaincy and batting prowess emerge as crucial elements for Pakistan’s success in the match against the Australian Prime Minister’s XI.
