Shan Masood Named Vice-Captain of ODI Side Against New Zealand

Pakistan’s vice-captain for the three-game One-Day International series against New Zealand, which starts on January 9, is Shan Masood.

In place of Shadab Khan, who suffered an index finger injury last week, Babar Azam will be assisted by Shan, who returned to the national ODI team after a three-year absence.

The left-handed batter’s final ODI was against Australia in Dubai in March 2019. In order to strengthen the team’s experience, he and Haris Sohail have been summoned back to the One-Day squad.

Interim Chief Selector Shahid Afridi announced the 16-man squad and stated, “We have opted to recall seasoned Haris Sohail and Shan Masood as we believe the two lads still have something to offer to Pakistan cricket.”
