Shoaib Malik Once Again Advises Babar Azam to Leave Captaincy

Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has shared his thoughts on the current captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam. Malik has suggested that Azam should think about stepping down from his captaincy role.

He expressed concerns about Azam’s ability to bring innovation and strategic thinking to his leadership. Malik believes that if Azam were to step down as captain, it might help him unlock his full potential as a player, ultimately benefiting the team.

Malik emphasized that his perspective is based on his personal assessment of Azam’s performance as a captain. He feels there’s a lack of a creative edge in Azam’s leadership, and despite leading the team, he sees limited progress.

Malik believes that Azam has the potential to excel as a player for Pakistan without the added responsibility of being the captain.

Furthermore, Shoaib Malik recommended Shaheen Afridi as a potential candidate for the white-ball cricket captaincy should Babar Azam decide to step down.

He pointed to Afridi’s strong leadership for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League as a reason for his recommendation.

This discussion arises after India’s recent victory over Pakistan, intensifying the scrutiny of Azam’s captaincy as former players provide their insights on the team’s dynamics and future leadership.
