Sialkot Airport Shuts Down for All Kinds of Domestic and International Flights

The Sialkot airport is going to shut down for nearly two weeks, affecting both domestic and international flights. The airport manager announced that from May 6 to May 18, no flights will be operating from or to Sialkot.

This closure comes after several flights from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi had to be canceled due to low passenger numbers during the holy month of Ramadan. A total of seventeen flights were affected, causing inconvenience to travelers.

Among the canceled flights was PIA flight PK-368, scheduled to fly from Karachi to Islamabad at 4 pm. Additionally, a private airline’s flight from Karachi to Dubai was also canceled.

These disruptions highlight the challenges faced by airlines and airports during Ramadan, as passenger traffic tends to decrease during this time. However, authorities are working to minimize inconvenience to travelers and ensure smooth operations once flights resume at Sialkot airport after the closure period.
