Sindh Declares December 25, 26 as Public Holidays

The government of Sindh has officially declared December 25 and 26, 2023, as public holidays to commemorate the birthday of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and Christmas.

The Chief Secretary issued a notification confirming these holidays for the upcoming week. According to the announcement, the public holiday on December 26, 2023, is specifically designated for Christians, allowing them to observe the day following their annual festival.

This decision applies to a range of government entities under the administrative control of the Sindh government, encompassing offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils.

However, it excludes entities engaged in essential services. The Department of Services, General Administration, and Co-ordination issued an official notification to communicate these arrangements.
