Sindh Govt Disapproves Single National Curriculum

The Sindh government has stated its position on the Single National Curriculum and has stated that it would not implement the federal government’s uniform curriculum.

In a statement, Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah stated the provincial government has already expressed objections about the universal curriculum. He went on to say that education and curriculum are matters for the provinces.

The education minister stated that some parts of the curriculum, such as science courses, could be accepted by the government; nevertheless, each province has its history, culture, and heroes taught in social studies.

According to Sardar Shah, the provincial government will not execute the standard curriculum without changes. He claimed that the federal government could not impose its choice on the Sindh government because the 18th Amendment gives provinces the power to accept or reject the standard curriculum.
