Sindh Govt Launched Solar Project to Provide Cheap Electricity to 200,000 Homes

Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, the minister of energy for Sindh, announced on Thursday that the Sindh Solar Project would see solar panels installed in every district in the province.

In the province’s rural and urban areas, he stated, 200,000 units/houses would be solarized as part of the provincial government’s big initiative to end the energy issue.

At a meeting with the World Bank delegation led by the national director, the decision was made in this regard.

According to the energy minister, it was decided to provide a subsidy of $ 110 in urban regions and $ 160 per unit/house in rural areas. With the assistance of the World Bank, solar plates will be put in every district in the province.

Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh stated that during a meeting with a World Bank delegation, it was decided that 200,000 solar panels would be provided at a subsidised rate under the project.
