The airline’s first ATR 72-500 aircraft recently arrived in Karachi as part of preparations for flight operations, while reports indicate that another aircraft is expected to join the fleet soon. Aviation sources say the expansion plan highlights the company’s intention to rapidly establish its presence in the domestic market before officially commencing services. The addition of multiple aircraft is also expected to support operational reliability and route expansion during the airline’s early phase.
According to preliminary plans, South Air is expected to begin operations during the first week of June, with flights likely to connect major urban centers and underserved regional destinations. Proposed routes include Karachi, Quetta, Gwadar, Turbat, Islamabad, and Skardu, areas that often face limited direct flight availability. The airline aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers while supporting tourism and economic activity in remote regions.
