Major Opportunity for Pakistani Students
The University of Kent has introduced a valuable scholarship opportunity for Pakistani students through the Bestway Foundation Scholarship programme for the 2026/27 academic year. The initiative offers five fully funded scholarships worth £26,000 each, covering tuition fees along with a maintenance contribution for selected candidates pursuing one-year postgraduate master’s degrees.
Eligible Fields of Study
According to the university, the scholarship is open exclusively to students from Pakistan who are domiciled in the country. Eligible subjects include Biosciences, Chemistry and Forensic Science, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science, Physics and Astronomy, as well as Engineering and Digital Design.
Both taught master’s programmes and research-based master’s degrees are eligible under the scheme. However, PhD programmes and courses that include an industry year are not covered.
Application Process
Students interested in applying must first secure a conditional or unconditional admission offer from the University of Kent before submitting their scholarship application through the official applicant portal.
The university stated that candidates will be shortlisted mainly on academic merit, while financial need may also be taken into account during the selection process.
Interview Stage and Deadline
Shortlisted applicants are expected to attend online interviews in June 2026 through Microsoft Teams. University officials have advised students to apply for admission as early as possible to ensure enough time for processing.
The final deadline for scholarship applications is Friday, 22 May 2026, at 5:00 PM BST. Officials have made it clear that no deadline extensions will be granted.
Strengthening Pakistan-UK Educational Ties
The scholarship programme is being seen as an excellent opportunity for talented Pakistani graduates who wish to continue higher education in the United Kingdom. It also reflects the growing educational partnership between Pakistan and British institutions, helping students gain international exposure, advanced knowledge, and better career prospects.
