SUPARCO, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission of Pakistan, is preparing to launch its first indigenous electro-optical satellite, EO-1, on January 17. This advanced satellite is designed to play a key role in various important areas, such as disaster management, agriculture monitoring, urban development, and the management of natural resources.
By providing valuable data, EO-1 will also support food security and water resource management, helping to address critical challenges in these sectors. This launch is a major achievement for Pakistan’s space program, showcasing the country’s progress in space technology and its commitment to innovation.
EO-1 will add to Pakistan’s growing space capabilities, building on the success of PAKSAT MM1, which was launched in May 2024. This milestone highlights Pakistan’s efforts to use space technology for the nation’s development and global recognition in the field.
