Transfer of police officials in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been banned by the Supreme Court because of political intrusion in postings and transfers.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandial head a 3 member bench with Justice Ayesha Malik and Justice Athar Minallah listened the case as recurring political interference, mainly under the new government has forwarded Punjab police to cul-de-sac.
The SC issued a rule that the police officials can’t be transferred or posted without completing their time period on the position.
