On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that on April 3, Vice President Qasim Suri was declared “illegal” and the dissolution of the gatherings illegal.
The five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, issued the verdict and re-established the National Assembly.
The court simultaneously ordered that the speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, should convene a chamber session for Saturday, April 9 at 10 am.
Earlier, while listening to Suomotu’s announcement, CJP Umar Ata Bandial said that they would announce the verdict in the case.
In connection with the decision by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri to block the no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan after hearings had been held for five consecutive days.
After completing all parties’ arguments, the Supreme Court reserved its decision announced tonight.
