Telenor Pakistan Launches 4G services in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Telenor Pakistan’s investment and network expansion in the region demonstrates the company’s dedication to fulfilling its goal to continue empowering the people of AJK by increasing connectivity.

“In this digitally linked world, it is critical to ensure that everyone has equal access to the benefits of next-generation connection,” stated Telenor Pakistan CEO Irfan Wahab Khan.

“In keeping with our commitment to the country, Telenor Pakistan has made this investment to guarantee that the people of AJK have access to opportunities arising from high-speed connection on par with the rest of the globe. Mobile broadband has become a critical requirement for community growth and development. We are tremendously proud to contribute to the region’s socioeconomic development and to continue to play an important part in the lives of the people of AJK by linking them to the outside world.

Telenor Pakistan is the region’s market leader, and the much-anticipated upgrade and expansion into 4G services would provide access to online services such as e-education, e-health, e-governance, ride-hailing, and food ordering apps, among others.
By bringing the world of opportunities within reach, this improved connectivity would stimulate tourism in the region and improve overall socio-economic conditions.

“This step forward towards the supply and extension of 4G services in AJK is the realisation of our objective of connecting people to what means most to them,” Cecilie B. Heuch, EVP and Chief People & Sustainability Officer, Telenor Group, said during her remarks at the opening ceremony.

Telenor Pakistan just purchased 16.2 MHz spectrum in a September 2021 auction, giving it the largest spectrum holder in AJK and GB. The region’s network expansion and upgrading has begun. Telenor Pakistan remains the market leader in AJK and GB, and it is committed to serving the people for many years to come.

“I am certain that the benefits of digital connectivity will be far-reaching, and that opportunities will be fully explored given the region’s potential.” “We are humbled and proud to provide increased connectivity to every Pakistani while breaking down socioeconomic boundaries with best-in-class services,” he added.
