The Total Trading Volume of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Is 2.28 Trillion PKR, the Highest in a Decade

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reported on Friday that the total traded value of PSX-listed scrips reached PKR 2.28 trillion in the first quarter of 2021, surpassing the previous high of PKR 2.28 trillion sets 13 years ago.

It’s also worth noting that Pakistan received the third loan tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday, totaling nearly $500 million.

Increased tax collection is another good measure of the country’s economy. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has raised nearly Rs3.4 trillion in taxes in nine months, uncovering major tax avoidance and beating its revised target thanks to higher indirect tax receipts, which accounted for over 63 percent of overall revenues pooled by the tax system.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended gains on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index rising nearly 100 points as a result of a slew of positive triggers.
