TikTok Banned in Montana, America

Montana has become the first state in the United States to ban the use of the video app after Montana Governor Greg Jane Forte signed a law banning the Chinese app TikTok.

According to US media, after this law, it will be illegal for Google and Apple’s app stores in Montana to offer the TikTok app within its limits. The ban will come into effect from January 1, 2024.

“This bill will further advance our shared priority of protecting Montana’s citizens from the surveillance of the Chinese Communist Party,” said Montana’s Republican Governor, Greg Jean Forte.

On the other hand, TikTok’s owner company ‘ByteDance’ said in a statement that this bill violates the First Amendment of the rights of the people of Montana by illegally banning TikTok. The company said it would defend the rights of its customers inside and outside Montana.
