Titanic was Largest Moving Object Ever Built Until 1913

The Titanic, a wreckage that now lies deep in the Atlantic Ocean was once the largest moving object of its era. The gigantic ship was also known as the Royal Mail Ship. It was a splendid British Passenger liner that faced a tragic end on its voyage from Southampton, England to New York City on 14 – 15th April 1912.

One of the biggest catastrophes in history, the Titanic took 1,500 lives and all the crew members. The gross registered tonnage of the Titanic was 46,328 tons with a displacement over 52,000 tons when fully loaded. The ship was manufactured with impressive dimensions and measured around 269 meters (882.5 ft.) in length, and 28.2 meters (92.5 ft. in width.

Remembering the event, numerous stories, films, paintings, and musicals have been made. In addition, scientists were also captivated by it that several extensive scholarly examinations have been carried out, including some risky trips deep down the ocean to observe the wreck.
