University of Peshawar Makes Shalwar Kameez Compulsory for Female Students

On Friday, the University of Peshawar released a notice requiring female students to wear only shalwar kameez.

The notice also specifies that they must wear a white shalwar, a colored kameez of their choice, a white scarf or dupatta, and a white overall with the identification card prominently displayed.

The notice that was sent out on Friday was updated to reflect changes from the one that was sent out the day before, which did not contain guidelines for wearing the scarf/dupatta as part of the dress code.

The previous notice stated that all male students “shall wear modest/decent clothes,” but did not specify a specific style or color.
