US Unveils Design for Commemorative $1 Gold Coin Featuring Trump’s Face

The U.S. Treasury has announced plans for the U.S. Mint to release a new $1 gold-colored coin featuring President Donald Trump as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary, also known as the semiquincentennial, celebrations.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the commemorative coin is intended to celebrate the nation’s rich history, enduring values, freedom, and patriotism while recognizing the significance of the country’s milestone anniversary.

Officials clarified that although the coin has a gold-like appearance, it is not made from precious gold. Instead, it is produced using non-precious metal alloys commonly used for circulation and commemorative coins.

The special edition coin is expected to be released later this fall as part of a broader series of initiatives marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. The administration stated that the proposed design is authorized under legislation governing the semiquincentennial commemorations.

However, officials emphasized that all commemorative coin designs must still undergo the established federal review and approval process before they can be officially issued.

The announcement has generated significant public interest, with supporters viewing the coin as a tribute to both the nation’s historic milestone and President Trump’s place in contemporary American politics.

Additional details regarding the coin’s final design, production schedule, and public availability are expected to be released by the U.S. Mint in the coming months.
