Use of Smartphones in Toilet is More Dangerous Than You think

Experts have warned that the growing tendency of using a phone while using the loo poses a health risk. The toilet seat is a haven for germs that are harmful to human health, according to Yin, an expert in infection control. Experts claim that when we use a mobile device after touching a toilet seat, many bacteria enter the device that we are unaware of.

According to experts, bacteria can survive up to 28 days on a mobile phone screen, making them 10 times more contaminated than a toilet seat. How are bacteria on toilet seats harmful to health? Experts claim that staphylococcus aureus, which causes skin diseases as well as urinary tract infections, is the most frequent bacteria detected on toilet seats.

Experts claim that even if you wash your hands after using the toilet, you cannot completely prevent germs because using a cell phone all the time forces you to eat with the same hands, which spreads bacteria within you and increases your risk of developing stomach ulcers. You can run into issues like food poisoning, cholera, and gastrointestinal illnesses.

Ways to Avoid Germs:

Experts have advised against using phones on toilet seats and to sanitise mobile devices.
