Virat Kohli Takes His First ODI Wicket in 9 Years at World Cup

Virat Kohli, known for his batting skills, also bowled in India’s last World Cup 2023 league match against the Netherlands. This happened because Mohammed Siraj was injured, and India wanted options for a crucial game. Kohli bowled a tight first over, even though an edge went for four.

In the next over, he took the wicket of Dutch captain Scott Edwards. Although the ball was drifting down the leg side, Edwards could only manage a slight touch, and KL Rahul made a fine catch. This wicket was Kohli’s first in a World Cup and the first in ODIs in nine years since 2014 against New Zealand in Wellington.

The crowd cheered Kohli’s wicket, and Anushka Sharma’s reaction while watching in the stadium became viral.
