Wahab Riaz is the first Pakistani player to have 400 T20 wickets. The achievement was attained while playing for the Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
After Dwayne Bravo, Riaz is the second pacer to reach 400 wickets in T20 cricket overall. Sunil Narine, Rashid Khan, Imran Tahir, and Shakib Al Hassan are the other bowlers with more than 400 wickets in T20 cricket.
The 37-year-old has played 335 games and taken 401 wickets with an average of 22.25 and an economy rate of 7.48. He has three five-wicket hauls with best figures of 5-8.
Riaz has also played 27 Tests, 91 ODIs, and 36 T20Is over the course of his international career, taking more than 200 wickets.
The speedster made his international debut in 2008 but has been out of the national side since 2020. With 11 wickets in five games, Riaz now holds the BPL record for most wickets taken. Riaz had previously declared his intention to stop playing international cricket following the 2023 World Cup in India.
