Watch: Bangladesh Opener Walks on Fire for ‘Mind-Training’ Ahead of Asia Cup

As the participating teams prepare for the Asia Cup 2023, Bangladesh team opted for a unique way. The Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh walked on sweltering coals as a part of ‘mind-training’ for the tournament.

The video of the player was shared on X and immediately caught everyone’s attention. The video showcases Naim calmly walking on burning coal and then walks over a mat alongside a bucket of water. His trainer also applauded the player by clapping.

Naim Sheikh has been selected as one of the opening choices in the absence of former captain Tamim Iqbal. Tamim initially announced his retirement but later changed his decision, yet he won’t be part of the Asia Cup due to a back injury.

Bangladesh is set to begin their Asia Cup’23 campaign against Sri Lanka at Pallekele International cricket stadium. The team is scheduled to play their second group match on 3rd September at Gaddafi Stadium.
