WhatsApp, Instagram Users in Pakistan Report Outages, Downdetector

On Saturday, many users in Pakistan reported problems with WhatsApp and Instagram, along with disruptions in internet services provided by Zong and PTCL, according to Downdetector.

Instagram saw a significant increase in outages, reaching 86 reports in just one hour. Users began experiencing issues with WhatsApp at around 10:45 AM, particularly struggling to send voice messages. People in major cities like Karachi and Lahore confirmed they were having trouble with their mobile internet services as well.

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has not yet commented on these outages. In the past, the PTA warned that internet speeds might remain slow until early October. This is due to issues with two major international submarine cables that connect Pakistan to the global internet network.

This situation sheds light on the ongoing challenges Pakistan faces with internet connectivity. With the increasing reliance on digital communication and social media, these outages can significantly disrupt daily life for many individuals and businesses.

As people depend more on these platforms for communication, work, and entertainment, reliable internet service becomes increasingly important.

Users are hoping for a quick resolution to these issues, as consistent internet access is crucial for both personal and professional activities. The difficulties faced by users highlight the need for improvements in Pakistan’s internet infrastructure to better handle such disruptions in the future.
