WhatsApp is introducing a new calling button, although yet available to some iOS beta users. According to WaBetaInfo, the new button is placed along with the context menu. The upgrade has been submitted via the TestFlight beta program.
The new calling icon will be placed in the chat header of group chats. The icon will now show the context menu as well, asking if you want to make a video call or an audio call. In the previous versions, there was only an action sheet where two separate calling icons were present for video and audio calls.
In the latest update, the call button with a plus sign indicates your WhatsApp is upgraded. As per the representative, the feature is preferred for its enhanced visual appeal, showcasing a sophisticated design.
