WhatsApp Users Receive Numerous Spam Verification Messages

According to recent news, WhatsApp users have been sending spam verification messages, which are actually attempts to steal their accounts and the data associated with them.

For account verification, users were required to submit a special code. “Prove that you’re a person by submitting the code you just got from WhatsApp, or your account will be disabled tomorrow,” read the message that requested the message.

WhatsApp did not send some message requesting any kind of verification, according to WABetaInfo in a recent tweet. According to WABetaInfo, the service does not require a six-digit code to validate accounts. These are often random accounts that simply send malicious messages, allowing hackers to steal data.

As a result, the service suggests that users allow two-step authentication and block and report any unofficial accounts that ask for personal information.
