Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to Hire 250 Staff as it Doubles Fleet

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is planning to expand its operations by doubling its fleet size and increasing capacity on popular routes amidst traveling demands. The airline plans to appoint 250 staff members, bringing the total workforce to 700.

As revealed by the Managing Director Johan Eidhagen, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi aims to operate a fleet of 16 aircraft by the end of this fiscal year in March 2024. The airline has already added two Airbus A321 narrow-bodied aircraft to its existing fleet of 10 jets last month.

During the peak summer travel season, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has recorded load factors of 85 percent, which is a significant improvement from the same period last year. The airline attributes this increase to people’s eagerness to travel and visit family and friends. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s managing director, Johan Eidhagen, is delighted with the airline’s current performance and expects it to continue to improve.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operates an ultra-low-cost business model and is a joint venture between Hungary’s Wizz Air and Abu Dhabi state holding company ADQ. Despite launching operations in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline has already achieved significant success. It expects to double the number of passengers it carries from Abu Dhabi to approximately 2.5 – 3 million.
