World Bank Offers Pakistan $1.3 Billion Assistance for Social Uplift Projects

Minister of Economic Affairs Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar was in attendance today at the Ministry of Economic Affairs for the signing of several project agreements totaling $1,336 million, including a $128 million World Bank grant.

This funding would support the government’s initiatives in Social Safety, Disaster and Climate Risk Management, Building Resilient Infrastructure, Agriculture and Food Security, Human Capital Development, and Governance.

The minister expressed gratitude to the World Bank’s Country Management for their unwavering support for Pakistan’s government in achieving long-term economic development. He explained that the international financial institution’s and development partners’ continued and expanded support reflects their confidence in the current government’s progress and reforms.
