According to Saturday News report, PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) has decided to run 6 flights for skardu, in one of the biggest operations for northern areas to promote tourism in the country.
The details provided showed that today, when the PIA operated 6 flights for Skardu, it operated one of its biggest northern area’s operations, containing 2 flights run from Karachi & one from Lahore, Sialkot, & Faisalabad simultaneousl.
Other than the normal routine operation, the PIA also operated 2 flights from Islamabad to Gilgit Baltistan.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) called it a special step from the national flag carrier for boosting tourism in Gilgit Baltistan. “6 flights carrying large number of tourists have landed at the Skardu airport,”. Said the authority.
In lining with the goal of PM Imran khan, on July 12, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) released a licence to a newly launched private airline to run flights in Pakistan, for promoting tourism & regional connectivity in the region.
As per the provided details, under National Aviation Policy 2019, the PCAA has permitted the issuance of Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration (TPRI) licence to the country’s private airline named Alvir Airways (Pvt) Ltd for a period of 5 years.
“The license has been issued in line with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to promote tourism & regional connectivity,” the PCAA said in a press release.
