As per the recent report, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Gwadar has the potential to develop as a full-fledged regional hub and to become a transshipment port.
While addressing in a maritime conference, Qureshi said that this port will put Pakistan at a convergence point that would provide a complete sea route to the landlocked Central Asian countries for their shipment of coal, agricultural products, and oil. He also pointed that these industries are attracting the local as well as the foreign investments.
Foreign minister also said that maritime sector in Pakistan requires the substantial investment for the building, enhancing its profitability, and operations. However, the revenue generation still might lack for some time in future.
