B-SUVs have been all the rage recently in Pakistan but in today’s day and age, prices are surging and it is difficult to come to the conclusion of what the best option in the market is that does not hurt the pocket as much but also packs a punch with specifications and performance.
The most notable of the B-SUVs available currently are the Peugeot 2008 and Honda HRV, both of which have two variant offerings. Considering all, we found that the car that hits all the right marks in terms of price and specifications was clearly the Peugeot 2008 Active variant.
The 2008 Active variant has a price edge over all of its other competitors by being priced at PKR 6.84 million making it a whopping PKR. 1 mn lower than its HRV counterpart despite having superior functionality and performance.
The 2008 Active variant has a powerful 1.2L turbocharged engine which produces 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque which is common with the Allure variant and if compared to its competitor Honda HR-V, offers better performance and mileage as the HRV produces 119 HP and 145 nm of torque.
The 2008 active also has a stunning exterior look that exudes confidence and power due to its halogen headlamps, signature fanged DRLs and unique front grille which is common in both the Active and Allure. Both the Active and allure also offer the same rims and dynamic side profile.
In terms of the interior, the 2008s design is as dynamic as its exterior with its signature I cockpit. The stand out feature being their instrument display; the Active is equipped with a 10-inch quartz display and the allure with a 10” 3D display, in comparison the HRV offers a 4.2” digital display.
The car also a rear view camera and rear parking sensors which makes it very easy to drive. And to have an excellent driving experience, the active is also equipped with Apple Car Play and Android Auto Play unlike the HRV.
To ensure the safety of its drivers and passengers, the car has 4 airbags and advanced safety features such as ABS, EBD, ESP and TPMS.
The Peugeot 2008’s Allure variants is also an excellent offering in the market with incredible specifications like a panoramic roof, rain sensing wipers, ambient lighting, an extra 2 speakers, extra 2 airbags, additional safety features like ADAS and cruise control. The Allure variant is priced at PKR 7.58 million which is a bit steeper than the Active variant but it is still priced lower than the Honda HR-V.
It is safe to conclude that the Peugeot 2008 Active is the B-SUV to keep an eye on which gives a bang for your buck, all while delivering a driving experience like no other.
