Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman has achieved his career-best ranking of second position in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings after scoring consecutive centuries in the first two ODIs of their five-match series against New Zealand.
The opener’s outstanding performances of 117 and an unbeaten 180 earned him the Player of the Match award in both matches and propelled him eight spots up the list, which is currently led by his teammate Babar Azam. Previously, Fakhar’s best ranking was seventh, which he achieved in April 2021.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has also improved his position in the rankings, moving from 64th to 58th place after scoring unbeaten knocks of 42 and 54 in the two matches.
Furthermore, fast bowler Haris Rauf has climbed up 12 places to 51st position in the rankings after his performances of two for 65 and four for 78.
On the other hand, New Zealand’s Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell have also made noteworthy progress in the rankings. Latham has moved up three places to 29th position after scoring 20 and 98 runs in the two matches, while Mitchell’s two centuries have propelled him 57 places up the rankings to 51st position.
