According to reports, Hyundai Nishat Motors has imported 456 CKD kits for their next Sonata series. While there is still time before the debut, import data from the manufacturer indicates that the CKD kits arrived last week on Saturday, July 12th.
The 8th generation Sonata is the DN8 series’ first Right Hand Drive variant. It’s also the first model to use the updated N3 modular platform, which improves rigidity while lowering weight, resulting in better fuel efficiency, overall driving and performance.
For those unfamiliar, the Sonata is Hyundai’s mid-size sedan that competes with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It made its debut in Pakistan during the PAPS 2020 Auto Show, when its Audi-like look drew a lot of attention.
Hyundai Sonata is hailed by experts as a modern mid-size sedan with a premium price tag. It’ll be fascinating to see how it compares to competitors like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, which cost Rs. 16 million and Rs. 11 million, respectively.
Because the Sonata is likely to be sold as a CKD in Pakistan, it shouldn’t be too expensive. However, in a market dominated by SUVs that aren’t expensive but still have a lot of great features, both inside and out, it might be difficult to sell.
